Open Farm Sunday 2008:

The Fordhams of Dolgoch Farm, Carmarthenshire, opened their farm to the public on Open Farm Sunday, held on 1st June.

Nick Rebbeck, Learning on the Farm Education Officer, helped them with health and safety aspects, including a risk assessment.

A beautiful sunny day saw the farm well organised with a warm welcome from the farmer and family. Information and farm brochures were on display for visitors. Clear signs, prepared by 8-year-old twins Harry and Lily Fordham were at every relevant spot to help visitors on an informative and enjoyable walk round the farm. Grandfather Nick led the main walk at 2.00pm.

In all more than 35 local people of all ages walked the farm throughout the day. Rhydlewis Pony and Trap Club also took advantage of the event day by driving five traps with 10 riders along the track and through the farm and woodlands.
