Organic Centre Wales works with organic farms and
schools to promote understanding of food and farming amongst school
students. This takes place through visits to farms, growing food in
the school grounds, designing healthy menus and so on.
We
do this by supplying information to schools and farms. See our list of farms to visit, organizations that work with
schools and resources to do with farming, healthy eating and environmental
education.

We can also help with sourcing
organic food for school meals: see our
trade directory

Growing the Future |
In March 2005, Organic Centre Wales set up Growing
the Future, a network of projects linking Welsh initiatives for
organic and local food in school meals and education. The network
has held two conferences, bringing together farmers, food companies,
teachers, Healthy Schools coordinators, local authority procurement
and catering staff, community groups and others to develop an agenda
for food in schools. See
www.organic.aber.ac.uk/schoolsnet for more details. |

Organic Centre Wales also works with
FACE (Farming and
Countryside Education) to help pupils learn about the real business
of farming and maintaining the countryside
The Centre works with the following projects to
promote the work of FACE:
